Snow guaranteed
Millions of investments have made almost all slopes snow-sure on about 90 days a year. When temperatures drop below -2° C, fine snow is produced virtually overnight from pure water. In recent years, this has resulted in the greatest skiing pleasure north of the Alps - only one to two hours away from the centres on the Rhine, Main and Ruhr rivers. Who else is going to Austria or Italy for a ski weekend or a few more days?
Ski courses
Get to know the skiing areas in the Sauerland. Book a ski course for carvers, boarders or (re)beginners. And give your children to the children's ski school, where they learn the fun of skiing in a playful way - with specially trained instructors, with funny mascots and "magic carpets" to help them up the slopes. Lessons are given in groups as well as individually. Up-to-date skis and boots etc. can be rented on site on request.

Give it a try. Get into various cross-country ski runs from Oberkirchen or start in the Rothaar Arena in the neighbouring Westfeld (4 km). There you will find ideal conditions. Thanks to up to 6 km of snow-covered trails even when there is not enough natural snow.
You can also book cross-country skiing courses for beginners and advanced skiers with former world-class athletes in the Rothaar Arena and get a taste of the fascination of biathlon using a laser rifle. The latter all year round, but on summer days in combination with Nordic Walking or on Nordic Cross Blades.
Cross-country skiing is considered one of the healthiest sports. And as one of the most beautiful and most intensive in terms of experiencing nature: because if you glide on cross-country skiers through the up to 200 km of machine-tracked trails around the Rothaarkamm and Hunau, you experience a winter wonderland in white - beautiful to look at and pure relaxation for body and soul.
On snowshoes
Cross-country skis, boots and poles can be rented directly on site if required, or in another ski rental shop. Cross-country skiing is a bit too slippery for you? Then why not borrow snowshoes and sticks? This way you can explore the beauty of the winter landscape without sinking in on uncleared paths. But be careful: If there are warnings of snowfall in the woods, you should avoid them and only hike in open areas.

Hunauspur, Rothaarloipe, Steinert and Pastorenwiese - the best known and most beautiful high-altitude cross-country trails of the Sauerland are close to us. However, since they are not circular trails, we accommodate our guests and pick you up by arrangement at car-accessible entrances such as Albrechtsplatz or Kahler Asten.

The snow park in the Rothaar Arena guarantees winter sports enjoyment even with a low natural snow cover thanks to perfectly groomed classic and skating trails and a mechanical snow-making system. Tip: A floodlight system allows you to run after work!
